Today we introduced 6 new Preview Panels that are now available to everyone and we are really excited about them. Added to the list are new Preview Panels for eBay, Finance, Health, Movies, Music, and TMZ.
To refresh everyone's memory, Preview Panels are the 4 large buttons at the top right of the page that expand when you mouse over them. What's great about Preview Panels is that they present a lot of information without taking up a lot of space and cluttering your homepage. Just rollover the Preview Panel to see the content you want without having to click off to another page. Plus, customization options allow you to choose the Preview Panels you want to appear on your homepage.
To select one of these new panels, simply click on the small triangle in the upper right of any of the Preview Panels (except Mail which is permanent – everyone wants to see their e-mail right?). Once you choose a new Preview Panel, your web browser will remember your choices and load these up for you every time you open the page.

We hope that you have a chance to try them all and see which ones you like best. Over the next few weeks, we will highlight each of the new Preview Panels on the blog to give you a better understanding of the new features and functionality.
So we really want to hear your feedback on the all of the new Preview Panels. Do you like them? Are they easy to use? Are there things you wish they could do to make it even better? Are there other Preview Panels that you don't see that you would find useful?
We look forward to hearing from you!!!

Why is it that I cannot find an AOL disc anywhere? I have been all around to many, many stores and no one has any. All I get from the employees is "Gee, we haven't carried them for a really long time". They have most of the others. They used to be everywhere and I even got them in the mail all the time.
Am I crazy to be looking for this? Is it non existant?

Hey, The ICQ there knew?
Does AOL only takes care of AIM?
I prefer the ICQ, I think much better and more versatile that AIM.
Indeed AOL has "envy" of ICQ.

Why the h-e-l-.......you know the rest that you have to use a different Windows in order to upgrade a new AOL. I am mad as (expletive). AOL is a ripoff, but Windows is an even bigger ripoff.

18. No, I don't like the panels. They pop up little boxes if you scroll over them, but you cant turn them off. They're almost as annoying as those ads that suddently take over a huge part of the screen.
I dont like AOL changing things all the time. With Windows XP, you have a choice to have your START MENU and folders look like the older Windows 98 views. Hey AOL, why not have that as an option here? Give us a choice to revert to older views and options.
I was so mad when you changed my Netscape email to a AOL email. I like to have a sound happen when I receive new mail, but I HATE the "You've got mail" sound!! But it's not an option. There's no way to take it off, unless I turn all the sounds off. I wish you would've left my stuff alone, but oh well. I didn't choose you, and I didn't want you!! Too late for that now. :(

I have been an AOL user from 1992 maybe 93 and over the years we have had our differences. All in all I am and have always been very happy with AOL and I find that times bring change. I would like the idea of putting what I want on my own page but this has been good for me and I do like the embay on top for my use. What I do not like on top is FLASH, this slows many thing down and I find that much of what I do is slow all ready. So, getting ride of FLASH would improve AOL a great deal. Over all I am happy with AOL.

Over the past 3 months I have been VERY disappointed with AOL which I've been using almost since it's inception. The performance of the emails functions is slippery and inconsistent regardless of how I fix the settings - often times I can't even get to my address book. I've started using gmail as back up. I'll hang in there for a few more months but if I don't see some noticable improvements in reliablity - I'm jumping ship.

I wish AOL could go back to the way it was when it was AOL 6 or 7 and you had to pay. Those were the days when AOL was great. When they moved their customer service to India, that was it's downfall. They took a great thing and ruined it. I use aol.com and yahoo.com for mostly email service only. AOL only cares about it's advertising dollars now, not about it's users, even the ones still paying full price.

Thanks everyone for the comments!
For those of you who for some reason arent seeing the little triangles, its possible that you are in what we call "screen reader-friendly mode" which takes some of the complexity away from the page for ease of reading for people needing accessibility assistance (blind users, etc). If this is happening, try going to http://www.aol.com/?sr=0& to reset that.
Hopefully that solves the problem!
