Hey everyone,
We got a lot of feedback from you all about the the ability to access your AOL Favorites (
). We know many of you spent a lot of time to add those favorites and we can completely understand not wanting to have to re-enter everything again.
So we listened to the feedback and added in a link in the My Links area of the page (upper left hand corner) that will let you access your favorites.

Please note that if you have added your own links to the My Links section (and we hope you have!!), you will not see the new "AOL Favorites" link. This will only show up if you have not customized at all. For those who already have customized, we felt it was a little intrusive to add a new link to your personalized list without your request. So for those who do not see a link, you can access the Favorites page directly from this link
By clicking on the AOL Favorites link, you will be taken to the myAOL Favorites page where you can easily manage all of your links. If you are already signed in, you should see the favorites that you may have already created if you used myAOL previously.
The great thing for all you AOL users is that you can also import all the favorites that you have gathered using the AOL software. Simply click on the Import Bookmarks link at the bottom of the page and you will be prompted to import either your AOL Software Favorite Places or import from your browser. Just follow the simple directions and you should have them all right there for you to use!

I have been trying forever to get my old favorites list from my desktop onto this laptop. Nothing seems to work. When I go to myAOL page everything freezes up. My computer has crashed at least twice and I have lost all data. AOL. used to be so simple. I really am trying to get rid of it entirely. I am beginning to truly HATE it!!! I am disgusted.

I SUGGEST YOU TAKE VERY SERIOUSLY THESE COMMENTS AS I TOO, AM STRONGLY
CONSIDERING THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!.....................

RSVP please. I have NEVER RECEIVED AN ANSWER ADDRESSING MY QUESTIONS OR
CONCERNS FROM YOU! I do not have 'much longer' !
You may be surprised to know we are stock holders in the first IPO and have a framed
certificate of stock! "Isn't that something ! "

Wow. After reading all of these comments I'm more than scared to make any changes. I live on my computer and have never used anyone but AOL since I first signed up with the internet back in 1996. I don't get out of my house much anymore and rely seriously on my ability to connect to the internet to do my banking and pay my bills, not to mention stay in touch with family. Recently I have been checking out various other means of storing information online/cyber space as my computer keeps crashing. Mostly because the best feature of AOL to me right now is the ease in which I can save web sites to go back to at a later date. I'm not really comfortable with throwing all my information out there even though these sites have the "private" or "public" option on your information.

OK, I'm done. I have my connection crash every 10-15 minutes, can not access help, I can't even access the aol help line to cancel my account. I've had enough. I will have Visa block the billing. This sucks.

I have AOL 9.1 software on my desktop. It is configured to save my Favorite Places to the AOL server. I want to be able to access them from my laptop computer which does not have AOL software installed.
My problem is that when I go to www.aol.com on my laptop and login, I cannot get to my favorite places.
I go to Bookmarks, then Import Bookmarks and click on the IMPORT link.
A message always comes up " You favorite places could not be imported at this time. Please try again later".
Please advise what I am doing wrong.
Thanks

I, too, find several parts of aol annoying but what I can't understand is why things like Photo Gallery now require you to click, first to get to that screen and then the initial picture shows again and you have to click yet again to see the rest....how can this possibly be called technical progress???

utterback,
Sorry your finding the updates difficult to deal with, but all the new features are meant to make your experience on our page better. If you dont like change - you dont have to use any of the new stuff if you dont want to. Most of the new features added (like the new ability to collapse parts of the page you dont care to see and the addition of more themes) are directly a result of feedback we recieve from our users, so while it is a change, we hope its a a welcome one to have as new options.

It was so easy to write e-mails and reply to e-mails when our contact list was right there on the right side next to mail, in alphabetical order by last name, which is the format we chose. I have not figured out how to get the names and addresses into my new mail now. I've wasted hours trying to figure this out. I guess I'm not too bright. Why did you make this so complicated for us older folks who are technologically challenged?!! We chose AOL because it was so easy. Now it's only frustrating!

Why did you completely mess up my email, attachments and favorites? Why do you not respond? If you don't want me as a customer, just tell me. It would save a lot of frustration. Oh, or you could fix it. Is that too much to ask?

Hey Becky,
Sorry that the page is coming up in Spanish. I can imagine thats not what you expected (especially if you don’t speak Spanish!). You may be getting the AOL Latino page.
If you are using AOL.com from a browser, try clicking on this link http://www.aol.com/?nocobrand and hopefully that will get things back to normal.
If you are using the AOL software, if you look at the top right of the screen, you should see something that says "Cambio Tu Pantalla". If you click that you'll get a drop down menu and one of the choices should be "AOL Experience". This will bring you back to the English Screen.
Hope that helps!

I have a favorites file that I saved. It is a .pfc file. AOL wants you import a HTML or website address. I saves my favorites in the AOL formate, but cannot retrieve it because the new AOL asks for a different file type. I have been in IT for over 40 years and have never run it contradicting directions as this new version of software suggests. Also I have been using AOL for over 15 years. Either I am not catching the process or ?

Are you crazy? What could have been easier than the original? I always liked AOL because it was easy, but times have changed and I don't like it. Now it seems I have to go to another link at the top left hand side that says "add a link"---well I don't have that on my screen. Goodbye AOL
