The new welcome screen is ugly and useless. I don't want to read about sports or entertainment, and now I have no option to get the political headlines. AOL just continues to get worse and worse.

Why do you retards always force crap upon people, like this new canvas bullcrap. I liked the why my homepage was and do not appreciate when Morons force schit down your throat with no option to change back to what was comfortable to begin with. Damn aol sucks I hate this new canvas crap and one would think that you idiots would be a bit smarter then to make changes without consulting the user first

I agree with you !!!!!! I don't mind change but change is supposed to be for the better this change went the other direction & downhill sounds like Microsoft. I liked my former "customized to my liking" homepage. What happened to the skin/background "that I chose", what happened to the homepage topics & gadgets "that I chose", why am I forced to have topics etc "that AOL chose" ?? Not every end user has the same tastes in news etc so why are we forced to be clones of each other, can't we each think on our own ? Where is my daily calendar ? Why do I have to have the news sections "that AOL chose", where are "my" homepage content choices ? What happened to 'Freedom of Choice' ? This "new design" sucks. Why didn't we know this was coming ? I should have suspected something like this when I couldn't make changes to my other homepage & AOL customer service (?) wouldn't respond to my questions. Thank heavens I can make anything my homepage so time to shop around for a company that meets "my" likes & needs after all it should suit the end user likes & needs.

Um ...I dont know what kind of page you have , but my new page was pretty much like the other one until I saw the backgrounds here to change them to ..once I picked one it changed but no one FORCED me to do anything ...and "they" DO consult the user in case you didnt see that in the beginning ( in writing )
...but you have to remember that YOU arent the only user out there...if you HATE AOL SO bad then why not switch your ISP and go with someone else ...there are PLENTY to choose from ...so MY question is , why waste time btching and whining about something that NO ONE FORCED you to do in ANY way , shape or form...GOD I hate people who act like they are the only intelligent people on the planet and everyone else should just bow down before them , and cater to their every wish , whim and need ..GET OVER YOURSELF and go get a life then maybe lil things like this wont cause u to get your panties in a bunch ! ::rolling eyes::

Amen. This new screen sucks. I've emailed AOL a dozen times about it. We should be able to choose our screen.

Both of u ( Me2 & Larry & all the other whiners on here right now for that matter ) are right as far as u can make ANY page a home page so GO PICK ONE that YOU CHOSE ! and They have been announcing the upcoming new changes for a while now ...apparently you didnt read them...they were right there on the homepage...and you CAN still customize the news type preferences( like Entertainment, latino , business etc ) you just have to go to that section. NO one is force feeding you ANYTHING...websites ( like facebook etc) and ISP's are changing things allll the time ...its life ...we have to adjust or move on ..can it be really frustrating??? HELL YES !! INDEED it can be , but its not worth sounding like a teenager throwing a tantrum . Its not even what you are complaining about so much ...we are all entitled to our own opinion ...but sounding like a 15 year old while doing so is an issue ...Grow up and learn how to voice your opinion without all the drama.

I don't like it and I want the ability to switch it back. I'm considering dumping AOL. My wife still has the old screen. I just brought up AOL and I thought something was wrong until I read about it.

I thinks the change that has been made is a negative not a positve, some skin needs to stay the same regardless of progress or what some beleive to be more in the mass's interest's! This new look is very boring and without my consent for what I want as my home page! Change is not always good and in this case AOL
has proven that they have disregarded a clients wants or expectations of what they hold to be the proven norm. This is
very sad to me when we don't have a choice in this matter!

My motto is, "if it's not broke, don't fix it." My home page was not broke, so why did AOL see the need to change it? At least give people the choice. As a long standing member I wish I had been surveyed and asked which screen I enjoyed more. Maybe now is the time to change ISP's!
